Sandnes is buzzing!

Seriously, Apache is smashing it so we are letting the creative energy loose right next door. Early 2026 the brand new coworking space Mörtel will open its doors.

Built for builders — of ideas, companies, and the future — Mörtel has room for 100 professionals and 13 meeting rooms, all with front-row seats to the sea. Located right on the docks in Sandnes city centre, it’s just a short, refreshing walk from trains, buses, and the best bakery in town.

The vision is ready - and the builders’ hard at work to welcome new community members in a few months. Along with the lovely scent of Sandnes’ very own Coffeeberry brew there’ll be the smell of fresh pine wood accompanied by lively colours and charming decorations. There’ll certainly be a few quirky details and playful surprises that make it a space you want to bring clients and work buddies. Among some of the qualities to expect is a spacious mezzanine, 6.5-meter ceiling height in lots of the offices, loads of natural light to keep things energised.

The name?

Mörtel was once the building material produced in Sandnes that laid the foundations for the industrial powerhouse the town became from the 1800s. Now, our community of ambitious, generous minds are building the future. 

Mörtel will have offices in different sizes and nomade desks for those who roam more free. Membership is “All Inclusive” in the sense that all shared costs including furniture, internet, electricity, printers, coffee/tea, showers etc are included. Not to mention access to free meeting room bookings across our spaces in both Sandnes and Stavanger.
